Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in the efficient operation of our warehouse, supporting materials handling, stock management, and shipping and receiving processes. Duties
- Handling materials efficiently and safely across the warehouse
- Operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment (training provided)
- Managing stock levels using the warehouse management system (WMS)
- Assisting with shipping and receiving activities to ensure timely dispatch and receipt of goods
- Picking and packing orders accurately for shipment
- Restocking shelves and organising inventory to optimise space utilisation
- Conducting quality control checks to maintain product standards
- Loading and unloading lorries with heavy or bulky items
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the warehouse environment
- Supporting mechanical tasks as required, utilising basic mechanical knowledge
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse operations or logistics is desirable
- Strong understanding of materials handling techniques and safety procedures
- Ability to operate forklift trucks safely (training provided)
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is advantageous
- Experience in shipping & receiving processes, picking & packing, and stock management
- Mechanical aptitude and basic mechanical knowledge beneficial for equipment maintenance tasks
- Physical fitness for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks throughout shifts
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail for quality control checks
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy environment
