Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and physically fit Warehouse Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling materials, managing stock, and supporting shipping and receiving operations within a busy warehouse environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in warehouse management and logistics, contributing to the smooth operation of our supply chain processes. The position involves manual handling, operating equipment such as forklifts, and ensuring quality standards are maintained throughout all tasks.
Responsibilities
- Handling materials efficiently, including loading and unloading goods from lorries and containers
- Operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery safely and in accordance with training
- Managing inventory through the warehouse management system (WMS), including stock updates and cycle counts
- Picking, packing, and preparing orders for dispatch with accuracy and attention to detail
- Stocking shelves and organising storage areas to optimise space utilisation
- Assisting with shipping and receiving activities, ensuring all items are correctly documented
- Conducting quality control checks on incoming and outgoing products
- Performing mechanical tasks related to warehouse equipment maintenance or troubleshooting when necessary
- Ensuring health and safety procedures are adhered to at all times, including heavy lifting protocols
- Supporting the overall organisation of the warehouse to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient environment
Requirements
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for specific equipment use
- Knowledge of materials handling techniques and safety procedures
- Experience operating forklifts or willingness to undertake forklift certification
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely on a regular basis
- Mechanical knowledge or aptitude is desirable for equipment maintenance tasks
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in picking, packing, and stock management
- Good physical fitness with the ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks effectively
- Reliable team player with a proactive attitude towards safety and efficiency
