Job Summary
We are currently looking for a hard-working and reliable Van Driver/ Warehouse Operative to join our team. As a Warehouse Operative, you will be responsible for delivering goods to customers and assisting with the day-to-day operations of our warehouse, including receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, and managing inventory levels. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
· Daily Deliveries to to our customers ensuring excellent customer service .
. Assisting with the unloading of vehicles and the checking in of stock
· Locating (physically and system via scanner or through a computer), sorting and placing materials or items on to racks, and shelves.
· Picking and Collecting items from throughout the warehouse, preparing and completing warehouse orders for delivery or pickup according to a schedule with the agreed Standard Operation procedures (SOP)
· Packing the goods ready for delivery
· Booking out the customer orders, raising and attaching the relevant advice / carrier paperwork
· Assisting with Queries regarding POD’s and stock checks
· Performing warehouse Quality checks and Inventory controls via scanner / or through a computer.
· Administration duties - Stock counting and updating the stock holding, location checks, returns and corrections.
· Reporting any discrepancies
· Assisting with product changeovers where required
· Maintaining 6S standards within your allocated area
· Reporting any near misses, accidents and unsafe practices to the Warehouse manager
· Complying with all the warehouse safety procedures
· Where designated – delivery of goods via the van.
· Operate and maintain preventively warehouse vehicles and equipment, where trained in the use of the MHE (Mechanical Handling Equipment)
· Ensuring the warehouse is Clean and tidy.
· Communicate and cooperate with the Warehouse manager and co-workers.
· Any other tasks as instructed by the Warehouse manager.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with materials handling techniques and equipment is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 25 kg) consistently throughout the shift.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in all tasks performed.
- A proactive approach to safety and adherence to health regulations within the workplace.
- A full UK Driving License
As a Driver/Warehouse operative you will be working both alone and as part of a team with efficiency and commitment to complete your work and strive to maintain the business/ team performance targets-KPI’s.
Pay: £13.21-£19.22 per hour
