Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic logistics team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of warehouse activities, including materials handling, stock management, and order fulfilment. Responsibilities
- Handling materials efficiently and safely across the warehouse, including loading and unloading goods from lorries
- Operating forklift trucks and other warehouse equipment to move stock within the facility
- Managing stock levels using warehouse management systems (WMS) to ensure accurate inventory records
- Picking and packing orders accurately for dispatch, adhering to quality control procedures
- Stocking shelves and organising storage areas to optimise space utilisation
- Assisting with shipping and receiving processes, including documentation and labelling
- Conducting regular quality checks on stock items and reporting discrepancies or damages
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times
Requirements
- Previous experience in warehousing or logistics is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Knowledge of materials handling techniques and mechanical equipment operation, including forklift driving (certification is advantageous)
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control procedures
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently as part of daily tasks
- Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail in picking, packing, and stock management
- Good understanding of health & safety regulations within a warehouse setting
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with equipment maintenance is a plus
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a physically demanding environment
