Role Overview
This is a physical, warehouse-based role ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for receiving stock, organising inventory, picking and packing orders, and maintaining a safe and efficient warehouse. No two days are the same, and full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
Goods In
- Receive deliveries from suppliers.
- Safely unload pallets and incoming deliveries.
- Check deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Identify and report shortages, damaged goods, or incorrect deliveries.
- Book stock into the warehouse accurately.
Warehouse Organisation
- Store products in the correct warehouse locations.
- Keep shelves organised, labelled and fully stocked.
- Maintain a clean, tidy and safe warehouse.
- Rotate stock where required.
Order Picking & Packing
- Pick customer orders accurately.
- Pack products securely to prevent damage during transit.
- Prepare orders for courier collection and local deliveries.
- Ensure all daily orders are dispatched on time.
Ecommerce Order Processing
- Process customer orders from eBay, Amazon and the company website.
- Print picking lists, invoices and courier shipping labels.
- Check orders for accuracy before dispatch.
- Follow courier shipping procedures.
- Help minimise dispatch errors and customer returns.
Stock Control
- Carry out regular stock counts.
- Reconcile goods received against supplier paperwork.
- Record and report stock discrepancies.
- Assist with inventory management using warehouse software.
General Warehouse Duties
- Process customer returns.
- Prioritise urgent customer orders when required.
- Support other warehouse operations as needed.
- Work closely with the sales and purchasing teams.
Health & Safety
- Follow all warehouse health and safety procedures.
- Use warehouse equipment safely and responsibly.
- Report hazards, accidents or damaged equipment immediately.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.
Skills & ExperienceEssential
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
- Physically fit and able to lift and move stock throughout the day.
- Good attention to detail.
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and web-based systems.
- Comfortable learning new warehouse software and systems.
- Ability to accurately count stock and reconcile deliveries.
- Basic understanding of courier labels and shipping procedures.
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable
- Previous warehouse experience.
- Experience processing ecommerce orders through eBay, Amazon, Shopify or similar platforms.
- Automotive parts or motor trade experience.
- Experience using warehouse management systems.
- Forklift licence (advantage but not essential).
Working Hours
- Full-time, Permanent
- Monday to Saturday
- Bank Holidays are normal working days unless otherwise agreed.
- Sunday work may be required for stock-taking (approximately twice per year).
