Job Overview
We are seeking a diligent and reliable Warehouse Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of warehouse activities, including materials handling, stock management, and shipping and receiving processes. Responsibilities
- Handling materials efficiently, including loading and unloading goods using appropriate equipment such as forklifts
- Managing stock levels through accurate picking, packing, and stocking activities
- Operating warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records
- Assisting with shipping and receiving tasks to ensure timely dispatch and receipt of goods
- Conducting quality control checks to maintain product standards and identify any discrepancies or damages
- Performing mechanical tasks related to warehouse equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Ensuring the workspace remains clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations
- Supporting the movement of goods within the warehouse, including load balancing and storage optimisation
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse operations, including materials handling, picking & packing, and stock management
- Proficiency in operating forklifts (certification preferred) and familiarity with warehouse management systems
- Mechanical knowledge beneficial for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Strong understanding of shipping & receiving procedures and quality control processes
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in line with health & safety standards
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail for inventory accuracy
- Physical stamina to work in a fast-paced environment involving load & unload activities
- Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors
