Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling materials, managing stock, and supporting shipping and receiving operations within a busy warehouse environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in warehouse management systems, mechanical knowledge, and quality control, contributing to the efficient flow of goods and materials.
Duties
- Handling materials efficiently and safely throughout the warehouse
- Operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment (training provided)
- Managing stock levels using warehouse management systems
- Picking and packing orders accurately for dispatch
- Loading and unloading lorries with heavy or bulky items
- Organising stock storage to optimise space utilisation
- Assisting with shipping and receiving processes to ensure timely deliveries
- Conducting quality control checks on incoming and outgoing goods
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment
- Supporting mechanical maintenance tasks as required
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of materials handling techniques and forklift operation is advantageous
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with equipment maintenance is a plus
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in picking, packing, and stock management
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Physical fitness to handle manual tasks throughout shifts
