Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic logistics team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of warehouse activities, including materials handling, stock management, and order fulfilment. Responsibilities
- Handling materials efficiently and safely across the warehouse, including loading and unloading goods from lorries
- Operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Managing stock levels through accurate picking, packing, and stocking activities
- Utilising warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records accordingly
- Conducting quality control checks to ensure products meet company standards
- Assisting with shipping and receiving procedures to ensure timely dispatch and receipt of goods
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times
- Supporting mechanical tasks when required, including basic maintenance or troubleshooting of equipment
- Ensuring all warehouse operations adhere to safety protocols and company policies
Experience
- Previous experience working in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Familiarity with materials handling equipment such as forklifts is advantageous
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems or similar software is desirable
- Experience in shipping & receiving, picking & packing, stocking, or quality control will be considered a plus
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with equipment maintenance is beneficial
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during daily tasks
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for stock accuracy and inventory management
