Job summary
Reporting to the Production and Warehouse Manager, you will have an opportunity to develop your skill set in engineering, production and warehousing within an established engineering business environment. You will be responsible for being part of the manufacturing team building the unique products that we supply. This is primarily a production role and will suit someone with a good working knowledge of tools and associated equipment. This role will also include raising goods received notes, dispatch notifications, field service engineer picking lists, loading & unloading couriers/company vehicles, the input and recording of stock system records and filing of all relevant paperwork. The role may require deliveries to be made to client sites.
We will provide you with the appropriate training and PPE.
You must live within a commutable distance to our offices in Hemel Hempstead, and you must have indefintite right to work in the UK.

Salary: £28,500pa
Hours: Early shift 6am to 3.30pm, late shift 8am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday
Main duties and essential responsibilities:
- To follow instruction with all tasks relating to the Production and Warehouse Department, as laid down by the Production and Warehouse Supervisor.
- To maintain a high level of output and quality of products.
- To update the Sales department upon request of sales order due dates via email in conjunction with the Production and Warehouse Supervisor.
- To maintain the pre-built products list and stock levels in conjunction with the Production and Warehouse Supervisor.
- To assist the Production and Warehouse Supervisor with build kits and required stock levels against the company system.
- Updating stock records against the company system working with the Production & Warehouse Supervisor and the Warehouse staff.
- To assist with the returned Product testing in accordance with the Returns Procedure document.
- Responsible for creation and recording of goods received notes and submittal against the in house stock record systems.
- Picking, packing and dispatching of finished products.
- Raising courier transfer tickets against the relevant courier web addressed systems.
- To update the Buyer of stock levels and the listing of stock required to be purchased.
- To control the warehouse department in absence of the Lead Warehouse Operative.
- To assist in the monthly audits within the Production & Warehouse Departments.
- To assist with any tasks required as requested by the Production & Warehouse Supervisor. This may include working across other company departments.
- Delivery of company products to site, using company delivery vehicles.
- Building of set and bespoke products for stock, or specially to order as and when required.
- Assisting in the service department when required. This may include going to customer sites and foul/dirty workings.
Knowledge and skills required
Essential Skills and Competencies of the Warehouse & Production Operative:
(a) Warehouse & production experience.
(b) Mechanical Experience with the use of basic hand & power tools.
(c) A good level of English and Maths and Computer literate in the use of Microsoft Office software, courier web addressed systems and in house stock management systems.
(d) Goods in & out and inventory control experience.
(e) A clean driving licence.
(f) Forklift Counterbalance experience. Licence not required as you will be placed into an in-house operator test.
(g) Mature communication and constructive interpersonal skills.
(h) The ability to work independently or as a member of a team.
(i) Trustworthy.
(j) Reliable.
(k) Physically fit.
Desired Skills and Competencies of the Warehouse & Production Operative:
a) Experience in a service industry, ideally the pumped drainage industry.
b) Welding experience.
c) Lorry Loader Crane certification or experience.
d) CSCS card.
