Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and physically fit Warehouse Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling materials, operating warehouse equipment, and ensuring the smooth flow of goods within our facility. Responsibilities
- Handling materials efficiently, including loading and unloading goods from lorries and storage areas
- Operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery safely and effectively
- Managing stock levels using warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory movements
- Performing shipping and receiving tasks accurately, including preparing orders for dispatch and receiving incoming stock
- Picking and packing items according to order specifications, ensuring accuracy and quality control
- Stocking shelves and organising storage areas to optimise space utilisation
- Conducting routine inspections of equipment and stock to maintain safety standards
- Assisting with mechanical maintenance tasks as required, utilising basic mechanical knowledge
- Ensuring all health and safety regulations are adhered to during daily operations
- Participating in regular inventory counts and audits
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Familiarity with materials handling equipment, including forklifts (certification is advantageous)
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar software is desirable
- Experience with shipping & receiving procedures, picking & packing, and stock organisation is beneficial
- Mechanical aptitude or basic mechanical knowledge is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the shift
- Strong organisational skills with keen attention to detail
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Physically fit with the stamina to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks
