Overview
We are seeking a reliable and physically fit Warehouse Worker to join our dynamic logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling materials, managing stock, and supporting shipping and receiving operations within our busy warehouse environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in warehouse management systems and mechanical operations while contributing to the smooth flow of goods. Prior warehouse experience is preferred, but full training will be provided for the right candidate. Duties
- Handling materials efficiently using appropriate techniques and equipment
- Operating forklifts safely to load, unload, and transport goods across the warehouse
- Managing inventory through warehouse management systems to ensure accurate stock levels
- Assisting with shipping and receiving processes, including preparing orders for dispatch and receipt
- Picking and packing products accurately according to order specifications
- Stocking shelves and organising storage areas for optimal accessibility
- Conducting quality control checks to maintain product standards
- Performing heavy lifting tasks safely during the movement of goods
- Loading and unloading lorries with care and precision
- Supporting mechanical maintenance tasks as required to ensure equipment functionality
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehousing or logistics operations is desirable
- Knowledge of materials handling techniques and safety procedures
- Experience operating forklifts (certification preferred)
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar software programmes
- Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking
- Mechanical knowledge or aptitude is advantageous for equipment maintenance tasks
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in stock management and order fulfilment
- Good understanding of shipping & receiving procedures
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
