Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries. Duties
- Safely operate company vehicles, including vans and lorries, to deliver goods to designated destinations
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to optimise time and fuel consumption
- Load and unload items.
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on schedule
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain necessary signatures upon receipt
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery statuses or delays
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies at all times
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role within logistics or warehousing environments
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record
- Experience with commercial driving vehicles such as vans or lorries
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when loading or unloading goods
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and delivery procedures
- Physical fitness to handle the demands of heavy lifting and prolonged periods of driving or standing
