Driver Performance & Compliance Supervisor Overview
We are a growing logistics business seeking a proactive and experienced Driver Performance & Compliance Supervisor to lead the recruitment, onboarding, training, monitoring, and ongoing development of our driver workforce.
This role is critical in ensuring drivers consistently follow company procedures, loading and unloading instructions, customer service standards, and compliance requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement across the driver team.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Lead the recruitment and selection of drivers to support business growth.
- Conduct driver interviews, assessments, reference checks, and right-to-work verification.
- Develop and manage a structured onboarding programme for all new drivers.
- Ensure all drivers receive clear instruction on company policies, procedures, and customer expectations.
Training & Development
- Deliver driver induction and refresher training programmes.
- Train drivers on loading and unloading procedures, vehicle care, customer service, health and safety, and compliance requirements.
- Identify training needs and implement improvement plans.
- Maintain accurate training records and competency assessments.
Driver Performance Management
- Monitor driver behaviour, conduct, attendance, punctuality, and performance.
- Conduct regular driver reviews and performance meetings.
- Investigate incidents, complaints, and breaches of company procedures.
- Implement corrective actions, coaching plans, and disciplinary processes where necessary.
- Recognise and reward high-performing drivers.
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure drivers comply with all company policies, legal requirements, and industry regulations.
- Monitor adherence to loading and unloading instructions and operational procedures.
- Conduct audits, spot checks, and performance reviews.
- Work closely with operations teams to maintain service quality and reduce operational issues.
Operational Support
- Liaise with customers, warehouse teams, and operations managers regarding driver performance.
- Support route efficiency and service improvement initiatives.
- Produce performance reports and KPI data for senior management.
- Assist with workforce planning to support continued business growth.

Operations Logistics Manager / Managing Director
Location
Office and field-based, with regular interaction across operational sites and driver teams.
Pay: £26,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
