Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Removal Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods and belongings to various locations, ensuring a smooth and efficient moving process. This role requires excellent driving skills, organisational abilities, and the capacity to handle physical tasks associated with heavy lifting. Prior experience in delivery or commercial driving is highly desirable, along with strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles, including lorries and vans, in compliance with all road safety regulations
- Load and unload items carefully, ensuring protection of goods during transit
- Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules and optimise fuel consumption
- Assist with heavy lifting and manoeuvring of furniture or equipment as required
- Communicate clearly with clients regarding delivery times and any potential delays
- Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of the vehicle to ensure safety standards are met
- Complete all necessary paperwork accurately, including delivery logs and inventory documentation
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving roles
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record
- Experience in warehouse operations or handling heavy lifting is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills for route planning and time management
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy items safely
- Good knowledge of local roads and traffic regulations
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
